The founding and permanent sponsors of the “People of Colour” conference are HRDI, A Subsidiary of Friend Health of Chicago and State University of New York at Stony Brook. Numerous nationally recognized organizations are invited to co-sponsor the Conference each year.

$275.00 U.S. Residents (before October 17th)

$325.00 U.S. Residents (after October 17th)

 

International Residents Fee: $200.00

Florida Residents Fee: $200.00

Sponsor Level Fee: $200.00

 

Cancellation Policy: Until November 1st, full refund, after November 1st, 1/2 of fee paid.

COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY ACADEMY: $150.00

Health, Mental Health, HIV/AIDS, Substance Abuse, Violence, Education

are the Major Areas relative to Culture and Race Differences, Geographical area identities, age variance, organizational positions, gender identity, and other factors considered when counseling, treating and working with people of colour. Everyone who works in an agency, organization,

community, college/university is encouraged to attend. You will gain knowledge and skills to effectively

work with persons of colour from the perspective of whites working with people of a different race and cultural background, persons of colour working with people of colour from different cultures and other identity factors. Understanding race, gender, age and other culture dynamics are necessary in order to individualize the relationship that can lead to an effective outcome.

Any reservation after October 20th, may not be honored for the conference rate of $157 plus tax per night.

SPECIAL NOTES:

• If you plan to fly from a location serviced by Southwest Airlines, you may want to book your flight on this carrier because their fares to Fort Lauderdale are reasonably priced now.

• The conference schedule starts at 5:00 pm Sunday, November 10th for the Opening Reception and Plenary; the Closing Plenary on Thursday, November 14th ends at 1:00pm.

• There is no Youth Academy included in this year’s conference. We apologize for not having it this year.
